Bergen Track & Field Wraps Up an Outstanding 2025 Season

The Bergen Bulldogs Men's and Women's Track & Field teams closed out the Spring 2025 season on a high note, sending 13 student-athletes to the NJCAA Division III National Championships, with six earning All-American honors! Their hard work, resilience, and talent showed in every performance, and the season was one to remember both on the track and in the classroom.

All-American Performers

  • Joseph Altieri (SO) – 6th Place, Discus

    • Career Bests: Shot Put – 11.27m (36' 11.75"), Discus – 35.45m (116' 4")

  • Joseph Henderson (SO) – 6th Place, 800m & 1500m

    • Career Bests: 800m – 1:59.56, 1500m – 4:07.69

  • Anastasia Heiden (FR) – 8th Place, High Jump

    • Career Bests: High Jump – 1.40m (4' 7"), Long Jump – 5.49m (18' 0.25"), Discus – 21.88m (71' 9"), Javelin – 20.20m (66' 3")

  • Hannah Otterstedt (SO) – 5th Place, Shot Put & 8th Place, Discus
    Also placed 18th overall in Javelin.

    • Career Bests: Shot Put – 9.89m (32' 5.5"), Discus – 33.87m (111' 1"), Javelin – 26.20m (85' 11")

  • Vivian O'Loughlin (SO) – 4th in 1500m, 5th in 800m, and 4th in 5000m

    • Career Bests: 400m – 1:09.32, 800m – 2:34.20, 1500m – 5:12.64, 5000m – 20:43.21

  • Jacqueline Caraballo (SO) – 2nd Place, Heptathlon

    • Career Bests:
      200m – 30.48, 800m – 2:59.01, 100m Hurdles – 20.22,
      High Jump – 1.32m (4' 4"), Long Jump – 4.56m (14' 11.5"),
      Shot Put – 8.03m (26' 4.25"), Javelin – 22.26m (73' 0")

National Qualifiers 

  • Victor Souza (FR) – Qualified in the 400m Hurdles with a 57.42

  • Michael Sorrentino (SO) – Qualified 400m Hurdles with a 1:03.38 

  • Oliver Arango (FR) – Qualified in Javelin with a mark of 26.36m

White Card Qualifiers:

  • Diego Camargo (FR) – Decathlon

  • 4x400 Relay – Joe Henderson (SO), Michael Sorrentino (FR), Hemang Patel (FR), Sauzer Ayoub (FR)

  • Abriana Rios (SO) – 100m

  • Angela Korca (FR) – 400m

These athletes may have just missed podium finishes, but their relentless determination earned them wildcard spots and respect.

 

 

Academic Excellence

This team didn't just shine on the track—they also excelled in the classroom, earning NJCAA, Region XIX, and GSAC Academic Honors.
