Bergen Women’s Wrestling Shines at Muhlenberg Novice Women’s Tournament
Paramus, NJ – The Bergen Community College women's wrestling program delivered an impressive showing at the Muhlenberg Novice Women's Tournament, highlighted by a dominant first-place finish from standout wrestler Kelly Marquez.
Marquez was unstoppable throughout the event, earning a 1st place finish behind a series of commanding performances. She opened the tournament with a 10-0 victory in Round 1, followed by another decisive 13-2 win in Round 2. Marquez secured her championship title with a forfeit victory in Round 3, completing an undefeated outing and showcasing her technical skill and competitive readiness.
Bergen also saw success from Vanessa Ochoa, who earned a strong 12-2 win in her opening match, adding another highlight to the program's growing momentum.
"Kelly and Vanessa both demonstrated exceptional discipline and competitiveness today," said the coaching staff. "Their performances reflect the hard work they've put in and the promising direction of our women's wrestling program."
