Bergen’s Anastasia Heiden Honored at Region 19 Women in Sports Banquet
EDISON, NJ -Bergen Community College student-athlete Anastasia Heiden was honored on Sunday at the inaugural Region 19 Women in Sports Banquet, held at Middlesex College. Heiden was one of 26 female student-athletes recognized from across Region 19, with each member institution nominating one individual for this prestigious distinction in celebration of National Women in Sports Day.
Heiden exemplifies excellence in academics, athletics, and commitment to women's sports. A psychology major with a 3.7 GPA, she successfully balances the demands of being a two-sport collegiate athlete while maintaining strong academic standing. Competing in both soccer and track & field, Heiden demonstrates versatility, discipline, and leadership across seasons.
On the soccer field, Heiden appeared in seven matches, recording one goal and two points while providing consistent effort and competitive drive. In track & field, she reached the national stage as a national qualifier in the high jump and earned All-American honors with an impressive 8th-place finish overall at the NJCAA National Championships.
Her accomplishments reflect not only elite athletic performance, but also resilience, dedication, and a commitment to excellence. Anastasia Heiden proudly represents Bergen Community College and embodies the spirit of National Women in Sports Day through her academic success, multi-sport achievements, and pursuit of competition at the highest level.
The event featured former WNBA standout Tamecka Dixon as the keynote speaker and celebrated the impact of women in athletics across Region 19.
