Bergen Track & Field Continues Strong Season with Multiple National Qualifiers
The Bergen Community College track & field team continues to make strides this season, producing multiple national qualifiers with two meets remaining before the NJCAA Nationals.
Men's National Qualifiers
Freshman Jorge Pelaez qualified in two sprint events, running 11.37 in the 100 meters at the Oscar Moore Invitational on April 11, 2026, and 23.47 in the 200 meters at the Muhlenberg Invitational on April 3, 2026.
Sophomore Victor Souza earned his qualifying mark in the 400-meter hurdles, posting a time of 56.25 at the Stockton University Invitational (March 20–21, 2026).
Freshman Aidan Paul added another qualifying performance in the 100 meters with a time of 11.42 at the Oscar Moore Invitational.
In the multi-events, sophomore Diego Camargo qualified in the decathlon with a score of 2108 at the TCNJ Invite and Multi (April 9–11, 2026).
The Bulldogs also qualified a relay team in the 4x100 meters. The group of Aidan Paul, Za'ki McGhee, Jorge Pelaez, and Matt Douglas ran 44.79 at the Oscar Moore Invitational.
Women's National Qualifiers
Freshman Miloida Hilaire qualified in the high jump, clearing 1.58 meters (5' 2.25") at the Ramapo College Invitational (March 27–28, 2026).
Sophomore Anastasia Heiden also secured a qualifying mark in the high jump with a clearance of 1.48 meters (4' 10.25") at the same meet.
Sophomore Oliver Arango qualified in the javelin with a throw of 26.75 meters (87' 9") at the TCNJ Invite and Multi.
Freshman Kelly Marquez earned a qualifying score of 1569 in the heptathlon at the TCNJ Invite and Multi.
What's Next
With strong performances across sprints, hurdles, field events, and multi-events, Bergen is in a great position heading into the final stretch of the season. The Bulldogs have two meets remaining before nationals and will travel to FDU Madison this Saturday as they look to add even more qualifiers.
