Hilaire Captures National Title in Women’s High Jump at NJCAA Championships
Paramus, NJ – Bergen Community College freshman Miloida "Milly" Hilaire delivered a championship performance this weekend, capturing the NJCAA National Championship in the Women's High Jump and etching her name into Bergen Athletics history.
Hilaire cleared a winning height of 1.49 meters (4'10 ½"), securing first place in a highly competitive field at the national meet. The Bergen freshman showed poise and consistency throughout the competition, successfully navigating early heights before ultimately separating herself from the field to claim the title.
Her performance not only earned her the top spot on the podium, but also contributed valuable team points for Bergen on the national stage. Hilaire's victory highlights a remarkable first season and reinforces the continued rise of Bergen's track and field program.
Also representing Bergen in the event, sophomore Anastasia Heiden competed strongly, clearing 1.34 meters (4'4 ¾")and earning points for the Bulldogs with a sixth-place finish.
"Milly's performance was outstanding," said Bergen Director of Athletics Erin Van Nostrand. "To win a national championship as a freshman speaks to her work ethic, composure, and competitive drive. We are incredibly proud of her and excited for what the future holds."
Hilaire's national title marks a significant milestone for Bergen Community College Athletics and underscores the program's continued growth and success on the national level.
