Bergen Athletics Celebrates Outstanding 2025-26 Season Across Multiple Programs
Paramus, NJ – Bergen Athletics concluded an exceptional 2025-26 campaign highlighted by championship performances, national tournament appearances, postseason qualifications, and numerous individual honors across multiple sports programs.
The year was marked by success both in competition and in postseason recognition, as Bergen student-athletes continued to excel on the regional and national stage.
The Bergen cross country program saw standout performances from Kelly Marquez, who earned First Team All-Region and First Team All-GSAC honors following a strong season on the course.
Women's volleyball continued its competitive rise by qualifying for the Region 19 Tournament. Angela Korca led the way with an outstanding season, earning First Team All-Region and First Team All-GSAC recognition.
The Bergen men's soccer team delivered one of the most successful seasons in program history, capturing the Region 19 Division III East District B Championship and finishing fourth nationally at the NJCAA Division III National Tournament.
Jonathan Remache headlined the historic season after being named NJCAA Division III First Team All-American, First Team All-Region, First Team All-GSAC, and Region 19 Division III Player of the Year. Onur Can earned First Team All-Region and First Team All-GSAC honors, while Khalifa Gassama was recognized as Third Team All-Region and Second Team All-GSAC. Leonardo Moura and Samuel Solis were both selected to the NJCAA Division III All-Tournament Team for their performances on the national stage.
The women's soccer program also enjoyed a successful campaign, finishing as runner-up in the Region 19 Women's Soccer Championship. Nathaly Gonzalez earned First Team All-Region and First Team All-GSAC honors, while Brianna Ramos and Kai Warn were both named Second Team All-Region and Second Team All-GSAC selections.
In women's basketball, Fonquasia Slade earned Second Team All-GSAC honors following a strong season for Bergen.
The men's basketball program made significant strides during the season, clinching a playoff berth for the first time in 10 years. Evan Meberg was recognized for his contributions by earning Third Team All-GSAC honors.
Bergen men's wrestling continued to make an impact regionally, placing sixth overall at the Gulf Atlantic District Championships. Alex Gossin captured a Gulf Atlantic District Championship while also earning First Team All-Region and First Team All-GSAC honors. Kai Argyros was named Second Team All-Region and Second Team All-GSAC, while Kevin Mederos Castellon earned Third Team All-Region and Third Team All-GSAC recognition.
On the softball diamond, Arian Garo earned Second Team All-Region honors as an infielder after a standout season for Bergen.
The baseball program also celebrated a record-breaking year from Anthony Radice, who earned Third Team All-Region honors as a catcher and set a new Bergen single-season home run record with nine home runs.
Bergen's track and field program achieved national success with several All-American performances at the NJCAA National Championships.
Milly Hilaire captured a NJCAA National Championship in the high jump while also placing seventh in the pole vault, earning All-American honors in both events. Victor Souza earned All-American honors after placing third in the 110-meter hurdles and second in the 400-meter hurdles. Anastasia Heiden earned All-American recognition with a sixth-place finish in the high jump. Kelly Marquez added another All-American honor by placing seventh in the heptathlon, while Olly Arango earned All-American honors with a seventh-place finish in the javelin.
