Baseball Opens Spring Break Trip with Commanding Win Over Minnesota North College
CYPRESS GARDENS, FL – The Bergen Community College Bulldogs kicked off their Spring Break baseball trip in dominant fashion on Monday afternoon with a 19-5 win over Minnesota North College-Mesabi Range.
Powered by explosive offense and solid pitching, the Bulldogs wasted no time setting the tone, scoring in every inning they came to the plate. The offensive charge was led by Reymon Steven Paulino, who launched two home runs and drove in three runs, while Justin Mercado added three hits and a game-high four RBIs. Trevor Eastman contributed with two RBIs of his own to keep the momentum rolling.
Bergen capitalized early, plating three runs in the first inning, then pouring on four in the third, five in both the fourth and fifth, and finishing with two more in the sixth. On the basepaths, the Bulldogs were aggressive and efficient, racking up eight stolen bases, including three each by Chris Merrill and Wilfry Morillo.
On the mound, Justin Ramos earned the win, throwing five innings, allowing five earned runs while striking out four. Relievers Billy Phillips, Ruben Alvarez, and Danny Izquierdo combined to close out the final two innings without allowing a hit.
The win marks a strong start to Bergen's Spring Break series, showcasing the depth and energy of a team looking to make noise this season.
