Bergen Baseball Sweeps Three-Game Series from Union County College
PARAMUS, N.J. – Bergen Community College Baseball put together a dominant weekend performance, completing a three-game sweep of Union County College with victories of 29-8, 14-2, and 10-4 to open conference play in impressive fashion.
The Bulldogs showcased explosive offense throughout the series, scoring 53 total runs while collecting timely hitting, aggressive baserunning, and strong pitching performances.
Bergen opened the series on March 6 with a statement win, erupting for 29 runs on 21 hits. Bergen broke the game open with a 16-run fourth inning and never looked back. Dylan Acevedo powered the offense with three hits and five RBI, while Michael Kim scored six runs and added three hits. Trevor-Isaiah Eastman added two hits and two RBI, while Bergen drew 15 walks and swiped multiple bases in the rout.
In Game Two on March 7, Bergen continued its momentum with a 14-2 victory at Breslin Field. Michael Baez led the way with four RBI, while Anthony Radice went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Cristopher Doble earned the win on the mound, tossing 5.2 innings while allowing just two hits and one run with five strikeouts. Bergen capitalized on its speed once again, recording nine stolen bases in the contest.
The Bulldogs completed the sweep in the series finale with a 10-4 win behind a complete-game effort from Domenic Maucione. Maucione went all seven innings, striking out 11 batters while allowing five hits. At the plate, he also contributed two hits and an RBI. Trevor-Isaiah Eastman drove in two runs, while Charlie Stevens added an RBI triple as Bergen pulled away after Union scored three runs in the opening inning.
