Bulldogs Shutdown Ocean in 15-1 Win
The Bergen Community College baseball team delivered a dominant performance on Thursday afternoon, defeating Region 19 opponent Ocean County College, 15-1, at the Bergen Baseball Field in Paramus, NJ. With the victory, the Bulldogs continued to build momentum in conference play behind an explosive offensive effort and a complete-game performance on the mound.
Bergen wasted no time taking control of the game, scoring three runs in each of the first four innings before adding insurance runs in the fifth and sixth innings. The Bulldogs finished the afternoon with 16 hits and 15 RBIs in one of their most complete offensive performances of the season.
Trevor-Isaiah Eastman led the offensive attack, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs, and two runs scored. Anthony Radice was nearly perfect at the plate, finishing 3-for-3 with two doubles, three RBIs, and two runs scored. Najib Duversaint added a strong all-around performance with two hits, including a double, while driving in three runs and drawing a walk.
Dylan Acevedo continued his hot hitting with a 2-for-3 outing that included two RBIs, two runs scored, and a pair of walks. Michael Baez also contributed three RBIs, while Aiden Quintero and Trevor-Isaiah Eastman each collected extra-base hits as Bergen consistently pressured Ocean County pitching throughout the afternoon.
On the mound, Mirquis Erazo turned in a dominant complete-game performance for the Bulldogs. The right-hander tossed all seven innings, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out one and not issuing a walk. Erazo kept Ocean County off balance all game and allowed Bergen's offense to control the pace from start to finish.
The Bulldogs also showcased aggressive baserunning, with stolen bases from Dylan Acevedo and Michael Baez, while Bergen's defense and pitching combined to limit Ocean County to just three hits in the contest
