Bergen Men’s Basketball Outlasts HACC in 102–99 Road Victory
Harrisburg, Pa. — January 13, 2026 — The Bergen Community College men's basketball team secured a hard-fought 102–99 road victory over Harrisburg Area Community College on Tuesday night, showcasing balanced scoring, efficiency, and composure down the stretch.
Bergen jumped out to a strong start, taking a 59–42 lead into halftime behind an efficient offensive performance. Despite a second-half push from HACC, the Bulldogs were able to withstand the rally and close out the three-point win.
Jakai Irby led all scorers for Bergen with a dominant performance, pouring in 29 points on 11-of-13 shooting while adding 11 rebounds, four assists, and two blocks. Jeremy Polanco provided a major spark off the bench, scoring 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting and knocking down two three-pointers. Jayden Rivera contributed 17 points and was nearly perfect from the free-throw line, converting 9-of-10 attempts, while Evan Meberg added 13 points and five rebounds.
Bergen's offense was highly efficient, shooting 58.5 percent from the field and 84.6 percent from the free-throw line. The Bulldogs also won the rebounding battle, 36–32, and recorded 18 assists as a team.
