Bergen Men’s Basketball Clinches First Region 19 Playoff Berth in a Decade
Paramus, NJ – The Bergen Men's Basketball team has secured a berth in the NJCAA Region 19 Playoffs, marking the program's first postseason appearance in 10 years. The achievement highlights a season of consistent growth and strong individual performances that propelled Bergen into the regional tournament field.
Bergen's success this season has been fueled by a balanced lineup and standout contributions across the roster. Sophomore forward Evan Meberg has been a steady presence in the paint, averaging 14.7 points and 8.1 rebounds per game while anchoring the team's inside play.
Guard Jayden Rivera has provided reliable scoring and playmaking, contributing 13.8 points and 2.3 assists per game. His leadership in the backcourt has helped guide the offense throughout the season.
Leading the team offensively, Jakai Irby has delivered an outstanding campaign, averaging 24.0 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. Irby's scoring ability and rebounding presence have made him a key factor in Bergen's push to the postseason.
Defensively, Jaheim Best has set the tone with his relentless effort, averaging 2.0 steals per game and creating opportunities for Bergen in transition.
