Paramus, NJ - Bergen celebrated their sophomore day before the game against Hudson Valley CC (HVCC). Bergen played HVCC tough and defeated them by the score of 3-1. Bergen honored their seven sophomores, David Beland, Nicholas Chong, Brandon Garcia, David Herrera, Kemar Newell, Andre Sajnoski and Danylo Vasyliev before the game. The seveb men helped win the 2016 Region XIX Title their freshman year. It was great to see them grow and they will be missed. Bergen athletics wishes them the best in the future endeavors.
Bergen was down 1-0 in the first half of the game. Bergen's Cristiano Neves scored to tie the game on a rebound. Crisitiano then scored the game winning goal with a direct shot from the middle of the box and under the goalkeepers legs. It stayed 2-1 until Bergen's Egor Ananev took the ball and dribbled 30 yards and avoided the goalie with 1 second left to score the third and final goal. Unfortunately, were not able to make the playoffs with a record of 5-7-1, but showed a lot of improvement for next year.
