Paramus, N.J. – Bergen Community College men's soccer secured an emphatic 5–1 victory over Rowan College of South Jersey-Cumberland on Saturday, September 13, at the Bulldogs' home pitch in Paramus.
After conceding an early goal in the 5th minute to Cumberland's Austin Donato, the Bulldogs responded with poise and relentless pressure, outshooting their opponents 38–5 on the day. Bergen equalized in the 18th minute when Daniel Lin buried an unassisted strike to bring the score level at 1–1.
The second half belonged entirely to Bergen, as the Bulldogs' attack came alive with four unanswered goals. Steven Carangui opened the floodgates in the 56th minute before Nicholas Garzon added another at the 70-minute mark. The Bulldogs then delivered a quick two-goal surge less than 20 seconds apart, with Gabriel Tahiraj and Gianfranco Appezzato each finding the back of the net in the 75th minute, sealing the 5–1 result.
Bergen goalkeeper Allenzo Conner anchored the defense with three saves in the first half, while the Bulldogs' back line limited Cumberland to just five shots all match. On the opposite end, Cumberland goalkeeper Shane Graham was tested throughout, registering 20 saves against Bergen's relentless 25 shots on goal.
