Paramus, N.J. – The Bergen Community College men's soccer team continued its strong start to the 2025 season with a decisive 3–0 win over Union College on Tuesday afternoon at the Paramus campus. The Bulldogs improved to 6–2 overall, while Union dropped to 2–3.
Bergen wasted no time setting the tone. In the 7th minute, Onur Can broke through the defense and converted off an assist from Daniel Lin, giving the Bulldogs an early 1–0 advantage. The momentum carried through the first half when Nicholas Betancourt capitalized in the 30th minute, finishing a setup from Can to extend the lead to 2–0.
The Bulldogs sealed the match late in the second half. Freshman Gabriel Guttieriez scored in the 89th minute off a pass from Daniel Castro, securing Bergen's sixth win of the season.
Bergen dominated the stat sheet, outshooting Union 25–13 with 10 shots on goal. Goalkeeper Dror Cohen was flawless in net, recording seven saves to earn the shutout.
"Our team played with great intensity and discipline," said head coach Johnathan Sanchez. "We're proud of how the players executed on both sides of the ball, and this win shows how much we're growing as a unit."
