Paramus, N.J. – Bergen Community College men's soccer earned one of the program's signature victories on Tuesday afternoon, defeating nationally ranked No. 4 Camden County College, 3–2, at home. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 8–3 overall and 8–2 in Region XIX play.
Bergen struck late in the first half with back-to-back goals in less than a minute. Daniel Lin broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute with an unassisted strike, and just 55 seconds later, freshman Brayan Medina doubled the Bulldogs' lead off an assist from Jonathan Remache.
After halftime, Bergen extended its advantage when substitute forward Samuel Chevere scored in the 80th minute, pushing the lead to 3–0. Despite a late push from Camden – who scored in the 83rd and 89th minutes – the Bulldogs' defense and goalkeeper Allenzo Conner held firm to secure the upset.
Conner anchored the Bergen backline with 10 saves, frustrating a Camden attack that managed 23 shots on the afternoon. The Bulldogs countered efficiently, converting three of their nine shots on goal.
"This was a statement win for our program," said Head Coach Jonathan Sanchez. "To beat one of the top teams in the country shows the quality and resilience of our players. They believed in themselves, and they earned every bit of this result."
The victory marks Bergen's biggest win of the season and puts the Bulldogs firmly in the conversation among the region's elite.
