Paramus, N.J. — The Bergen Community College men's soccer team returned to action with a commanding 5–0 victory over Brookdale Community College on Tuesday afternoon in the Region 19 District D Semifinal at the Bergen Soccer Field. With the win, the #2-seeded Bulldogs advance to the District B Final on Friday, October 31, where they will face Camden County College for the regional championship.
Bergen wasted little time asserting control. Gianfranco Appezzato opened the scoring in the 15th minute before Onur Can struck twice within a six-minute span, including one assisted by Jonathan Remache. Remache then added a goal of his own off a setup from Andre Lucas Santana Yoon, giving the Bulldogs a 4–0 lead at halftime.
In the second half, Manual Urquia capped the scoring in the 71st minute, again assisted by Santana Yoon. Bergen outshot Brookdale 39–5 and held a 6–1 edge in corner kicks, demonstrating complete control from start to finish
Goalkeepers Dror Cohen and Allenzo Conner combined for the shutout, each making key saves to preserve Bergen's clean sheet.
With the win, Bergen (15-3-1 overall) advances to the Region 19 District B Final, where they'll look to capture the District title and earn a berth in the NJCAA Division III National Tournament.
