Chris Benitez earns North East Region Male Runner of the Year

Paramus, NJ -Men's Cross Country team learned during the 2019 DIII nationals ceremony that sophomore, Chris Benitez, was voted 2019 Athlete of the Year for the North East Region.  The honor is given by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. (USTFCCCA). 

Chris Benitez had a memorable season this year.

  • - Placed top 20 in the NJIT meet with a time of 26:29
  • - Placed 3rd at the GBC fall classic with a time of 28:14
  • - Placed 5th in Penn State Abington Invitational with a time of 29:02
  • - Was named National Athlete of the Week by the USTFCCCA
  • - Placed #1 in the 2019 Garden State Athletic Conference Championship Meet 
  • - Placed #1 in the 2019 Region XIX Tournament Championship Meet
