Bergen sweeps Sussex

Paramus, NJ - Bergen's Softball Team traveled to Sussex for a doubleheader.  Bergen took both games of the doubleheader by the scores of 3-1 and 16-9.  The two wins puts the Bulldogs in fifth place with a record of 8-6 overall.  

In the first game, Linzi Reginald pitched a complete game allowing 1 run, 5 hits and 7 strikeouts.  Linzi's record is now 3-3 on the season as she continues to impress the region.  Offensively, Kara Woegens and Stephanie Ramos had two hits apiece.

In the second game, Bergen's bats came alive as they scored 16 runs to sweep the series.  Ashley Figueroa went 2-5 with three runs two RBI and a double.  Stephanie Ramos also had a big day at the plate by going 2-5 with a run and two RBI.  Linzi Reginald (3 RBI), Kara Woegens (2 RBI) and Brianne Tunick (2 RBI) had a double a piece on the game.  Sarah Brading won her third game of the year bringing her record to 3-3.  Brading pitched 5 innings allowing 8 hits and striking out 6 on the day.

The Bulldogs will host Middlesex on Tuesday, April 21st beginning at 3:30pm.  The team will fundraise for the Play4Kay Foundation to support breast cancer research.
