Bergen Softball Rallies for 14-12 Win Over Middlesex
Edison, NJ – Bergen Community College softball delivered a resilient offensive performance on April 14, defeating Middlesex College 14-12 in a high-scoring road contest.
After falling behind early, Bergen erupted for eight runs in the third inning to seize control of the game. The Bulldogs continued to apply pressure with three runs in both the fourth and fifth innings, building a lead that proved just enough to withstand a late push from Middlesex.
Bergen totaled 14 runs on 11 hits while drawing an impressive 10 walks, demonstrating patience and discipline at the plate. The lineup capitalized on scoring opportunities throughout the middle innings, which ultimately made the difference in the contest.
Middlesex kept the game competitive, finishing with 12 runs on 10 hits and mounting steady offensive production across multiple innings. However, Bergen's explosive third inning and ability to string together key at-bats allowed them to maintain the edge.
Despite the late innings pressure from Middlesex, Bergen held firm defensively to close out the victory and secure the road win.
