Three Bergen Bulldogs Earn A Trip To The 2016 NJCAA National Championships
Bergen will send three Wrestlers to the 2016 NJCAA National Championships in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The tournament will begin on February 25th thru February 27th
Paramus, NJ - Bergen will send three Wrestlers to the 2016 NJCAA National Championships in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The three wrestlers are led by sophomore James Henry (Hackensack) who placed third at districts at 141lb weight class . Freshman, Matthew Caban (Lodi) earned second place at the district tournament in the 133lb weight class. Freshman, Anthony Romero (East Ramapo, NY), earned third place in the 125lb. weight class.
James Henry had a strong sophomore year an overall record of 5-4. He will be set to face Taylor Lehman, from North Iowa Area College, for his first match at nationals.
Matthe Caban has had a near perfect record the season for the Bulldogs. Matthew was 7-1 overall on the season. His second place district finish will have him wrestler Austin Swartz (Colby College) in his first match.
Anthony Romero had a perfect season for the Bulldogs with a 7-0 record. He is in a tough 125lb. weight class and was able to get into nationals with a thrid place finish at districts. Anthony will take on Logan Terrill (Neo A&M College) for his first match at nationals.
The three BCC wrestlers will travel to Council Bluffs, Iowa on February 25-27. Go Bulldogs!
