Wrestling season has begun
Bergen's Wrestling team begins their season strong this past Saturday at The Springfield Tech Wrestling Tournament in Massachusetts.
Paramus, NJ - Bergen Bulldogs took to the mats this weekend in Springfield MA. for their first open tournament of the season. Bergen took nine wrestlers to compete in the tournament.
Luke Bohn 157lb (Oak Ridge, NJ) and Mike Rodriguez (Hackensack) 165lb both took 1st place.
Ariel Salazar placed in 2nd in the Heavy Weight Class.
Kobi Balkin (Fair Lawn, NJ) placed 4th in the 125lb weight class,
Chris Rosario, 133 Chris Martinez, 141 Malik Karmi 149 ,Nick Bucci 184 and Steven Hankin 197 all had two matches each and lost by decision in each match.
Overall Bergen had a great day of competition. When asked about the tournament, Head Coach Chris Disanto said "We are going to learn from this tournament and make strides on getting better".
Bergen will now travel to East Strasburg University on Sunday November 6.
