Paramus, N.J. – The Bergen Community College women's soccer team continued its strong start to the 2025 season with a convincing 4–1 win over Atlantic Cape Community College on Tuesday afternoon at home. With the victory, the Bulldogs improve to 3-1 overall (2-1 in conference play), while Atlantic Cape drops to 0-5 (0-4 conference).
Bergen wasted no time taking control as Susan Hajel opened the scoring in the 9th minute off an assist from Nathaly Gonzalez. The Bulldogs dominated possession throughout the first half, outshooting the Buccaneers 19–2, but carried just a 1–0 lead into the break thanks to a stellar 13-save effort from Atlantic Cape goalkeeper Millinda Marigliano.
In the second half, Bergen's relentless attack broke through. Michelle Guallpa doubled the lead in the 73rd minute with an unassisted goal, followed just three minutes later by Caelyn Freeman, who finished off a setup from Brianna Ramos to make it 3–0.
Atlantic Cape managed to pull one back in the 78th minute when Alyssa Bybee scored unassisted, but Bergen quickly answered. Ramos capped the Bulldogs' scoring in the 87th minute, converting a pass from Oliver Arango to seal the 4–1 victory.
The Bulldogs dominated the stat sheet, registering 45 shots (28 on goal) to Atlantic Cape's 3. Marigliano finished with 24 saves for the Buccaneers in a standout effort, while Bergen goalkeeper Ashly Urquia made two saves in the win.
