PARAMUS, N.J. – The Bergen Community College women's soccer team capped off a landmark 2025 season with a historic run to their first-ever appearance in the NJCAA Region XIX Championship match. Under the leadership of Head Coach [Coach's Name], the Bulldogs posted a strong 5-4-1 record (3-2-1 in conference play) and delivered one of the most memorable seasons in school history.
Bergen's balanced attack and resilient defense defined their 2025 campaign. Sophomore standout Brianna Ramos led the offense with an impressive 11 goals and 4 assists, finishing with 26 total points and two game-winning goals. She was supported by Kaia Warn (5 goals), Susan Hajel (3 goals, 3 assists), and Caelyn Freeman (3 goals, 2 assists), who each provided key moments throughout the season.
In goal, Ashly Urquia anchored the defense with four shutouts, a .714 save percentage, and several clutch performances that kept Bergen competitive in tight matches. The Bulldogs' defense, led by veterans Heidy Gonzalez, Helen Lema, and Karen Rios, proved vital in holding opponents to a 2.28 goals-against average.
The Bulldogs' remarkable postseason run included their first Region XIX semifinal victory in program history, propelling them into the championship match against one of the region's top-ranked opponents. Despite falling short in the final, Bergen's achievement marked a defining moment for the program — signaling its emergence as a regional contender.
"This group made history," said Coach Bowles. "Their dedication, teamwork, and belief in each other transformed Bergen soccer. Making the Region XIX final for the first time is something we'll build on for years to come."
With several key players expected to return next season, the Bulldogs have set a new standard of excellence for Bergen women's soccer — one rooted in resilience, growth, and championship aspirations.
