Women's Cross Country continues to impress this season.

Paramus, NJ- Women's Cross Country continues to impress this season. The team has a very good shot at earning a trip to the NJCAA Tournament Meet in Holyoke, MA on Nov 6th-Nov.8th. They first have to prove themselves at the Region XIX Championship Meet, which will be hosted by Essex CC on Sunday, October 25th. The top three teams will advance to nationals and the Lady Bulldogs have shown all season why they have a great shot at achieve this opportunity.
The team has been successful all year in every tournament they have participated in. They came in sixth in their first meet on September, 4 at the Roadrunner XC Season Opener. After the season opener, the Women's Cross Country team has been getting stronger.
On September 12th, the Lady Bulldogs traveled to Cumberland County for the Dukes Invitational. At that meet, Bergen achieved second place and brought home the first trophy.
On September 20th, Bergen traveled to Van Courtland Park, Bronx, NY for the Queensborough CC Invitational. The course was very challenging, but the Lady Bulldogs brought home a third place trophy.
On September 26th, the women traveled to Stockton University for the Osprey Open Meet. The competition at the meet was tough. They were able to compete with the four years institutions and was a learning experience. The meet proved to help the Lady Bulldogs look to reach higher goals.
On October 3rd, the team responded from the Osprey Open when the competed in the Luzerne Invitational at Luzerne County, PA. Bergen had their best showing at this meet by winning the tournament and bring home a first place trophy the first of the year.
Most recently the Lady Bulldogs continued their success by bringing a second place trophy from the CCNY XC Collegiate Classic that was located at Van Courtland Park, Bronx, NY. Last time they ran on this course they brought home a third place trophy. This time the Lady Bulldogs new the course and showed their ability to adjust by finishing in second place. Bergen's Top runner Yanibel Pena (Hackensack,NJ) finished individually in second place with a time of 25:12.1. (Pictured on the left #319)
Bergen has one more regular season meet this weekend at Sunken Meadow St. Pk. At the St. Joseph's College XC Invitational, on Saturday, October 17th.
The team is led by top runners Yanibel Pena (Hackensack), Katiana Mendoza (Hackensack), Amanda Duran (Hackensack), Melissa Duran (Hackensack), Kelly Galati (Rutherford), & Jordan-Diane Hernandez (Hackensack). The team is led by Head Coach Deana Dedovitch, who has contined to push the women's team to improve their times, in hopes to earn a trip to Holyoke, MA.
