Women's Cross Country earn fourth place in the Region XIX Championship
Bergen Community College's Women's Cross Country finished in fourth place at the Region XIX Championship Meet on Sunday, October 25th hosted by Essex County College.

Paramus, NJ – Bergen Community College's Women's Cross Country finished in fourth place in the Region XIX Championship Meet on Sunday, October 25th hosted by Essex County College. The team finished in the fourth place, which was the highest finish in over 10 years. It will be the first time that the team will travel to nationals with a full squad.
The Bulldogs had a top 5 finisher in the Region XIX Tournament. Freshman, Yanibel Pena (Hackensack), finished fourth in the race with a time of 19:45. The 4th place finish earned her First Team All-Region honors. Yanibel was followed by Katiana Mendoza (Hackensack) who finished in the top 20. Katiana finished in 19th place with a time of 21:38. Melissa Duran (Hackensack) followed Katiana with a 30th place finish and a time of 23:02. Her sister, Amanda Duran (Hackensack) was right behind her finishing in 34th place with a time of 23:15. Kelli Galati (Rutherford) followed them finishing the race in 39th place with a time of 24:41. Diane Hernandez (Hackensack) finished the race in 46th place with a time of 27:19 and had been bothered with an injury that caused her to be behind her usual time.
The Bulldogs will now prepare to go to the NJCAA Women's Cross Country Tournament in Holyoke, MA on November 5th-7th. Go Bulldogs!!!
