Bergen Men’s Basketball Defeats Rowan College of South Jersey–Cumberland, 77–68
Vineland, N.J. – The Bergen Community College men's basketball team earned a solid road victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating Rowan College of South Jersey–Cumberland, 77–68, on January 10 at the Cunningham Center.
Bergen took control early, building a 39–29 halftime advantage, and held off a second-half push from the home team to secure the nine-point win. The Bulldogs were dominant on the glass, outrebounding Rowan 45–40, including 17 offensive rebounds that led to key second-chance opportunities.
Evan Meberg led all scorers with a game-high 25 points, shooting 9-of-16 from the field and 6-of-7 from the free-throw line while adding seven rebounds. Jakai Irby provided a strong interior presence, finishing with 20 points and nine rebounds, while Logan Garcia added an efficient 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting off the bench.
Bergen also received important contributions across the lineup. Jarris Bertram posted eight rebounds and three assists, while De'Angelo Hibbert and Jaheim Best combined for 13 rebounds to help control the tempo inside. The Bulldogs finished the game with 10 assists and five blocked shots, anchoring a balanced team effort.
