Bergen Men’s Basketball Dominates Rowan College South Jersey–Gloucester, 82–57
PARAMUS, N.J. – Bergen Community College men's basketball delivered a powerful all-around performance Tuesday night, defeating Rowan College South Jersey–Gloucester 82–57 at home. The win moves the Bulldogs to 5–5 overall and 4–5 in Region XIX play.
Bergen controlled the game from the opening tip, taking a 38–25 lead into halftime before outscoring RCSJ–Gloucester 44–32 in the second half. The Bulldogs shot an impressive 50% from the field and 70% from three-point range, while also winning the rebounding battle 40–36.
Freshman guard Thomas Munoz sparked the Bulldogs' offense, scoring a team-high 17 points on 5–12 shooting while adding four assists and four rebounds.
Forward Evan Meberg turned in a standout performance with a dominant 16-point, 13-rebound double-double, controlling the paint on both ends of the floor.
Sophomore Xavier Townes added 16 points and 5 rebounds, continuing to be a steady scoring presence off the bench.
Starters Jeremy Polanco and Jarris Bertram each contributed 10 points, with Bertram also grabbing 9 rebounds and dishing out a team-high 7 assists in a strong two-way performance.
Bergen's bench was again a major strength, contributing 42 total points and providing energy throughout the night.
The Bulldogs held Rowan to 29.9% shooting from the field, including just 20–67 overall. Bergen forced seven turnovers, blocked six shots, and limited RCSJ–Gloucester to only 24 points in the paint.
