Bergen Men’s Basketball Edges Ocean County College, 78–76
Paramus, NJ (February 3, 2026) – The Bergen Community College men's basketball team held off a late push from Ocean County College to secure a hard-fought 78–76 victory Tuesday night at Bergen Community College.
Bergen (13–11, 9–7) led 38–33 at halftime and maintained its advantage through the second half, finishing strong at the free-throw line to seal the two-point win over Ocean County College (13–10, 10–7).
Jarris Bertram paced the Bulldogs with 16 points on an efficient 7-for-12 shooting performance while adding three assists. Jakai Irby followed closely with 17 points, two assists, and two blocks, providing a steady presence on both ends of the floor. De'Angelo Hibbert contributed 13 points off the bench, highlighting a strong reserve effort as Bergen's bench outscored Ocean County's 46–4.
Jayden Rivera chipped in nine points and six rebounds, while Evan Meberg added eight points and seven boards to support a balanced Bergen attack. The Bulldogs matched Ocean County on the glass with 44 rebounds and capitalized at the foul line, converting 18 of 22 free-throw attempts.
